Secret Sicily

Set out to discover the Madonie, among Sicily's most beautiful mountains, in the heart of a nature reserve with some of the hinterland's most picturesque villages. The first stop is Isnello, inhabited since prehistoric times (traces of human settlements have been found in the Chiusilla, Fico and Roccazzo caves). At its heart lies the main church, built in the fifteenth century.Inside, bathrooms by Giuseppe Salerno have been found along with frescoes by Antonino Ferraro and more.In the old quarter, you can visit the church of San Michele.We then head towards Castelbuono, founded by the Byzantines.You can visit the old town with its many churches and the Castle of Ventimiglia.Traditional Sicilian lunch accompanied by folk music (lunch with wine and mineral water included).After lunch, we set off for Pollina, a town which sprang up in the late Middle Ages around the castle granted to the diocese of Cefalù in 1178.The parish church, which was reconstructed at the beginning of the nineteenth century, overlooks the village. Of particular interest are a statue of the Virgin Mary and a low relief representing the Nativity. Return to the hotel for dinner.
